Our Wedding

Welcome to our wedding! So many details go into planning a wedding where do we even begin?

First, let’s talk about how my day started at 5am. Did I sleep? The answer is no. However, hair and makeup came strolling in at 5am so, there was no time to sleep anyway.

For makeup: we went with a classic bride look to make my eyes pop. I always ask for a lot of contour to keep the face looking snatched.

For hair: we went with a slicked back bun down separated down the middle with a beautiful headpiece made by Maria Elena.

I opted out of writing vows because if you know me you know that wouldn’t have went well. I pretty much saved everyone the pain.

Our photography was done by Jaymo James who did an incredible job at captivating every moment but with our own taste involved.

Video was done by DMS Films who really focused on the important details and captured the most amazing memories.

I worked closely with Lauren from Lelaurier to design my hair and makeup robe (the robe I got ready in) and my bridal robe. Lauren is amazing at hitting it right on the head with any dreams and expectations you have. I wanted something classy, elegant and timeless. My hair and makeup robe is something I can wear forever because it’s classy, has feathers and… why not? My bridal robe is a bit more elevated and something that I can use for maternity shoots, etc in the future. It was made out of French lace, satin, ostrich feathers and handmade flowers. Such stunning pieces that I can keep forever and even pass down along the line.

Time for bridesmaids… don’t get alarmed but I had 14. I know, I know, why would I do that to myself? Big family, close friends… why not? Everyone got their own robes and gifts and it turned out amazing.

I wanted a traditional wedding but with a twist. I didn’t want to do what everyone else was doing.

Anthony got ready at his parents house where all the guys got ready and got very buzzed. Definitely not the same vibe as my house with thirty something people running around.

Its time! We made our way to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on fifth Avenue in Manhattan where our ceremony was. Little did we know there was a parade happening on fifth Avenue. We ended up being 45 minutes late for church because of all the traffic. I got there before Anthony (which if you know us, doesn’t ever happen). At first, the police that were blocking the streets for the protest did not want to let us down the block to get to the church but we made it! Nervous that Anthony would see me, I ran into the side of the church (ok, “ran” is a stretch because, did you see my dress?)

My dad and I are waiting in the back of the church for about 10 minutes when security lets us know that the groom has finally arrived. It’s time to go! My heart started racing uncontrollably at this point because I just couldn’t believe this was actually happening.

We go to the back of the church preparing for the doors to open to walk down the aisle (while the parade is going on) and the crowd erupts and starts screaming and cheering, some even telling me not to do it and to run away ha. When the doors opened I felt numb and don’t really know how I walked down that long isle but we made it! And it was perfect!

Time for the reception…

It was time for Anthony and I to get on the bus with our bridal party and head to Oheka Castle in Long Island, NY. It didn’t rain all day except for the bus ride to the castle. Does that mean something? Anyway, we got there and immediately started taking pictures. After a while, we got to have our own little cocktail hour while the real one was going on downstairs. I’m pretty sure thats the only time I ate.

It was time to go back down and party!

I walked into my reception with my ballgown (tripped twice while walking in but who’s counting?)  and after all of the first dances I took my ballgown off for a sexy mermaid look that was underneath my over-skirt.

My wedding dress was custom made by Pnina Tornai. She executed my vision perfectly and it was everything I could have imagined. We worked closely on finding the perfect shape and fabric to execute the look that I wanted. Every detail was met, and thought-out meticulously.

Now let’s get into the flowers. My flowers were done by Langdon of Tribeca and they truly executed my every expectation. I really wanted a European vibe, including the greenery. I only wanted white and green and to just have it be a really clean and fresh feeling. My favorite part was the draping of the greenery. i wanted dramatic draping everywhere. Every single detail was hand picked and well thought out.

Ughh! There’s so much more to talk about but we’ll get into all of that another time!
